Read Forum Introduction or Welcome to GNIEBxBEING FORUM, To my new readers and readers from other sites, a warm welcome. I hope you like the new site. I like the idea of a forum open to readers to place comments directly but I am not into this technology myself so, if you have problems or suggestions, please feel free to use the coupon below. The same applies to the attached Blog. To find an easy-use format may take time; it may need monitoring to avoid abuse. It seems a good idea to have a Blog-site linked to the forum. This will give convenience and personal freedom alongside the FORUM formality. In the meantime I will look for readers comments to pass on. Being involved with this for some years I know it is difficult to get comment from readers. The reason for this is not clear. Perhaps readers feel uneasy with comment on literature that breaks new ground? However without a nudge it is difficult for me to know where work is needed, so don't be shy. Over the years I have noticed that, in all kinds of major disasters, the people suffer either because they never knew what hit them, or they ignored the warning signs. People who read the Christian testament in serious search for truth – that is to see the eye of reason, in the things He has made, will know that important matters are addressed. It is up to us to care enough to make an effort on our own behalf. Now just a little about myself: During my early my life I was dedicated to understanding the truth of life for my own benefit. I was not interested popular opinion as I had learned early that authorities are unreliable. Popular leaders, too often, rely on majority deceit for their support. A desire to find the truth of life for my own benefit made obvious the need to avoid plausible argument and personal desire. Truth needs reliable evidence! Knowing the difference between 'fact' and opinion gives access to the big difference between knowing and understanding. One cannot cover all areas but I found that there is a threshold of understanding of basics that can be achieved. Once that is achieved we see that if ideas are rational to basics then they have potentials worth looking into. But we have, as scripture suggests: to be as free of preconception as a child. By the half-way of my life expectancy I saw I was not an island; as part of a human development findings should be shared. To be a professional writer was never my ambition but I have tried to reach a level suitable to the caring majority. Why should we care? This is not a religious exercise, but search for the truth of life does reveal itself as Christian! If we don't see the difference between religion and Christianity, then it is because our understanding has been deformed. Religion is a dogmatic commitment to ideology whereas Christianity is a dedication to truth. Truth: is the reality of the structure and order essential to life. Life does not depend on the mental fixations attendant on dogma. Religions are dogmas attached to plausibility and myth! Any desire for truth is a challenge to dogma. Truth has a solid foundation and, as we learn to appreciate this, we progressively gain in intellectual security. Religion fills the vacuum of its ignorance with magic, fixation and fantasy! It is a void, a facade for futility. Desire for truth reveals progressive advance! In the Christian Revelation we find that, at judgment, those not serving themselves well will be told, "I never Knew you". Today's culture of religions has captured Christianity and created a big question mark for life. Are we prepared to sacrifice our emotional commitment to the farce of religion in favour of the truth that offers us life? Do we see the point? So many today allow themselves to be led by others: the lawyers of religions, the politicians of parties, and the deceivers of commerce. We are seduced to believe there is no truth! Who cares anymore? Those last words remind me of a dream I had many years ago: In this dream I was walking down a lane beside a stone wall and came to a partly open door. Curious I looked in. At first it seemed like some kind of storeroom but on stepping in I found myself in a schoolroom. I was struck be the appearance of great age; the desks were so worn with use. A teachers plain table was in front of a wall of narrow arched windows each about a half metre wide and I wondered that they had made sheets of glass that size so long ago. I went through a door in the wall to a narrow tiled veranda with two steps down to a rest or recreation area and these stone steps, like the desks, were worn down as by countless feet over years of use. After a little time in examination and wonderment I returned to the entrance to leave. There an old man offered me a book. I took the book but said, "I don't know if I should take this; it could be very old and valuable." He replied sadly: "It doesn't matter. No one ever comes here any more." I then awoke. Sorry about that detour! I expect, though it seems like nothing, I will not forget it, especially those sad words. Do you think it had meaning? We need to do something about our situation! This is a life/death war. The future of human life is at stake and as this was foretold 2000 years ago can we take it lightly? We are all given a brain, intelligence to develop, a will and an ability to think on our own behalf. Our being is created in the truth of order and our Creator shares spirit of intellect with us. We have so much foretold from the past and so much to lose by not making an effort to understand! If we fail to advance to know truth, then truth cannot know us? The wisdom of ages is ours to gain. So I am not saying "Believe Me", I am saying use your gifts of spiritual wealth and intelligence, learn to penetrate in understanding! Don't surrender your life to the deceit of popular opinions! The realty of meaning behind words gives independent vision and creativity! As we get to know truth, truth becomes our guide. I offer freely the results of my efforts but we all need to help ourselves. Here are some favourite lines from Longfellow's, "The 50th Birthday of Agassiz" "Come wander with me , " She said, And he wandered away and away A parrot can be taught to repeat words; but does it ever know what they mean? The more secure our understanding of basics of order, and of principles of behaviour, the easier it becomes to see what is worth consideration. So, tell me or ask me, together we may progress. www.gniebxbeing.org.uk |
